ASSESSMENT & CREDENTIAL

How you are assessed

Assessment is competency-based and completed progressively throughout the course. Each module includes a short knowledge quiz designed to assess your understanding of key animal welfare principles, legislation, health, nutrition, behaviour, and ethical care practices.
Throughout the program, students complete practical and scenario-based assignments that demonstrate their ability to apply the knowledge gained in real-world animal care situations. All assessments are reviewed by an experienced tutor, who provides detailed written feedback and guidance where further improvement is required.
Upon successful completion of all course assessments, students are awarded the Certificate in Animal Welfare issued by Careers Collective, along with a comprehensive unit transcript. The certificate is endorsed by the International Approval and Registration Centre (IARC), recognising that the course meets internationally recognised vocational education standards.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Open to all students

No specific entry requirements are needed to enrol in the Certificate in Animal Welfare. This course is designed for anyone with an interest in animal care and welfare, whether you are looking to begin a career, enhance your existing knowledge, or simply develop practical skills.
Students should be at least 16 years of age and have a working level of English language proficiency sufficient to complete written coursework and communicate with their tutor. A reliable computer and internet connection are required to access the online learning platform. No previous qualifications or animal care experience are necessary to get started.
