Throughout the program, students complete practical and scenario-based assignments that demonstrate their ability to apply the knowledge gained in real-world animal care situations. All assessments are reviewed by an experienced tutor, who provides detailed written feedback and guidance where further improvement is required.
Upon successful completion of all course assessments, students are awarded the Certificate in Animal Welfare issued by Careers Collectiv. The certificate is endorsed by the International Approval and Registration Centre (IARC), recognising that the course meets internationally recognised vocational education standards.

Gain an understanding of animal welfare legislation, ethical responsibilities, the Five Freedoms, and best practices for promoting humane treatment and responsible ownership.
Develop knowledge of safe animal handling techniques, restraint methods, workplace safety procedures, and strategies for reducing stress during routine care.
Learn the essentials of maintaining clean, safe, and enriching environments, including hygiene practices, sanitation, disease prevention, and animal housing requirements.
Study the daily care needs of common companion animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and small mammals, with a focus on health, enrichment, and welfare.
